Third Grade Enjoys the Nutcracker
Our third graders traveled to PPAC this week to take in a performance of The Nutcracker. Everyone was dressed to the nines, we had fantastic seats in the first row of the mezzanine, and really enjoyed the show! Congratulations to DMS seventh grader, Sadie Robertson, who starred in the show as a Dancing Girl at the Party.

Happy Hanukkah!
To all those that celebrate Hanukkah, we wish you a joyous holiday. Several of our students learned about Hanukkah this week and had some Hanukkah fun of their own! Mrs. Doyle's class learned how to play the dreidel game. Mrs. Gauthier's class enjoyed a visit from Mrs. Zetlan as she shared a Hanukkah story and then helped the students to make edible dreidels!

Half-Day Reminder
This Friday, December 22 is a half day with dismissal at 11:45.

Community Meeting
We gathered together to celebrate another successful month. We discussed November's trait of RESPECT and how we displayed it throughout our school community this month. We also discussed December's traits of FAIRNESS and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP. Third graders talked about their unit of study on the Wampanoags and showed off their great wetus and longhouses for all to see! We handed out another batch of Hard Worker Awards and Mrs. Dupre's class clinched the Box Tops trophy for the second consecutive month!

Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful.....
After our extended warm weather, winter is finally here! Please be sure that students are dressed appropriately each day for outdoor recess. We will be going outside as long as it is 25 degrees or warmer. Please be sure that students are wearing pants and a jacket for recess. Students coming to school in either shorts or a sweatshirt will not be able to go outside to play. Hats and gloves are also great to have!! To play in the snow, students must have boots and snow pants. Without them, they will be required to stay on the hard top for recess when there is snow on the ground & play structure.

Amazing Art
Students in all grades have been creating superb pieces of art in Mr. Scafidi's class. Second and third grade students worked with tint and shade. Second graders created beautiful stained glass while third graders painted monochromatic city skylines. Fifth graders designed their own illuminated script and put them on metal sheets. Nice work boys and girls!
